What is a Covenant NFT and how do you earn one?

Forget everything you think you know about NFTs. This one cannot be bought. It can only be earned by a family that showed up for a year.

Ember · Family Basecamp · Updated September 2026

This article described an earlier plan for Family Basecamp that is no longer how the system works. We're leaving it up rather than deleting it, because we'd rather be honest about what changed than pretend it never existed.

What changed

Family Basecamp no longer issues an NFT, and Covenant is no longer a blockchain token. Building a real financial mechanism on top of a token like this raised serious questions we weren't equipped to answer responsibly, so we set that plan aside rather than launch something we couldn't fully stand behind.

What Covenant means today

Covenant is now a purely symbolic mark on the Referral ladder, earned when a family has helped 100 other families find their way to Family Basecamp. It carries no token, no wallet, and no market value of any kind.

The recognition system today carries no ownership, no payout, and nothing that can be bought, sold, or traded. What it recognizes is real: families who showed up, and families who helped others do the same.
