๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Watchman

A family that kept watch for others.

A watchman was someone entrusted to stay awake. To pay attention. To see what was coming and make sure others were not left without warning. The role was never about standing above everyone else โ€” it was about being faithful to something beyond yourself.

That is the idea behind Watchman. Not authority. Not ownership. A family that helped hundreds of other families find their way to Family Basecamp.

What Watchman means

Your Ember journey is about your family choosing each other. Covenant begins when you start opening the door for other families. Watchman represents something larger: you kept opening that door.

At 500 referred families, your family has helped hundreds of others discover Family Basecamp. That number represents more than referrals โ€” it represents hundreds of separate households that made their own choice to walk through the door.

You didn't build their families. You didn't live their moments. You simply helped them find the place where they could begin building something of their own.

Why call it Watchman?

A watchman stayed awake while others rested. They watched the horizon. They paid attention. They remained faithful to their responsibility.

For Family Basecamp, the meaning is simpler: you kept paying attention to families beyond your own. You saw something worth sharing. And you kept sharing it. Not once. Not with a handful of people. But hundreds of times.

How your family earns it

Embers record what your own family does together.

Referral recognition records the families you helped discover Family Basecamp.

When your family reaches 500 referred families, Watchman is permanently recorded in your Chronicle. It cannot be bought. It cannot be transferred. It cannot be earned by paying more. It exists because your family helped 500 other families find the door.

What Watchman does not mean

Watchman does not mean you are responsible for the families you referred. It does not give you authority over them. It does not represent ownership of Family Basecamp. It is not an investment. It is not a share of their subscriptions.

It carries no market value and cannot be bought, sold, or traded. It is recognition of contribution, not ownership.

What Watchman opens

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

A permanent mark in your Chronicle

Covenant records the moment your family began helping others find theirs. Watchman records something larger: hundreds of families found the door because you kept pointing toward it.

Ongoing referral credit

Once your family reaches Emunah, the $1 monthly credit for each active family you referred keeps accruing across all of them โ€” a thank-you for ongoing contribution, separate from the Watchman mark itself.

Beyond Watchman

There is one more step on the Referral Ladder: ๐Ÿฎ Lamplighter, at 1,000+ families referred. Watchman represents hundreds of families helped. Lamplighter represents a thousand โ€” not because the number makes one family more important than another, but because every additional family represents another household that found an opportunity to begin showing up for each other.

You kept watch.
You kept sharing.
And hundreds of families found their way in.
